Major Accomplishments

Our kids successfully completed their academic term and are now enjoying their holiday break.
Eric and Eliab finalized the holiday schedule and budget.
December salaries were paid early to the team ahead of their holiday time off.
We welcomed two overnight guests who booked our guest room for a two-night stay.

Additional Progress

We continue to implement our holiday schedule, with a few highlights:

Each team member is taking a one-week break, either over Christmas or New Year’s.
Eliab and Martin are coordinating plans to purchase a special gift for the kids, to be presented on January 1, 2025.
We’re collaborating with two teachers, Fabrice and Christian, who will be leading a dance class and an art class, respectively, for the kids during the holiday break.
On Christmas Day, all the kids will travel to Virginie’s house for lunch. Virginie’s family hosts a huge meal every year for family, friends, and neighbors, and they always invite our kids to join.
We’re planning to host all of our kids for a sleepover on New Year’s Eve.

This week, we remained financially stable thanks to the donations from Eric, which covered salaries and all household expenses.

Stories

For the end of term, we prepared and presented gifts to each of the kids’ teachers and the Headmaster at Bukane. Each gift included a piece of chocolate cake, an apple, a hard-boiled egg, and a handwritten note. We deeply appreciate the teachers and Headmaster at Bukane for their dedication and the incredible work they do!

This week was filled with activities and updates for our kids, but the highlight that excited them the most was the invitation to come to our house on New Year’s Eve. They were thrilled about the idea of sharing a meal, sitting around the fire, and having a sleepover to ring in the New Year. This news brought them so much joy, and they can’t wait for the day to arrive!
